I provide wall and ceiling skimming, plaster repairs, replastering and external rendering, including K Rend, for homes and properties across London. I've worked in plastering since 1999, starting as an apprentice alongside experienced tradesmen. I work independently, so when you get in touch, you'll speak directly with the plasterer doing the job. The price depends on the condition of the walls, the preparation needed, access and how much plastering is involved. Use the estimate as a starting point, then send me photos and your postcode so I can quote for your job.

These are early budgeting allowances, not fixed quotations. Prices depend on surface condition, preparation, access and scope. A square-metre wall rate does not automatically include ceilings. Confirm materials, protection, waste removal and any VAT treatment in your written quotation. K-Rend silicone render guide includes labour and standard materials; scaffolding, difficult access, substrate repairs and additional systems may cost extra.

For a room measuring 4.5m × 3.5m with 2.5m-high walls, the four walls total 40m² of gross wall area. For labour budgeting we do not automatically deduct the door and window: reveals, beads, edges and corners around openings still require detailed work. At our £10 – £25/m² wall-skimming guide, the starting calculation is £400 – £1,000 before any condition adjustment. Our full price guide then applies the relevant condition and complexity allowances.
This example covers the walls only, not the ceiling, additional repairs or a guaranteed room price. Actual quotations depend on your surfaces and agreed scope.

A plasterer in London may typically budget at around £250 – £400 per day for labour, but many plastering jobs are quoted as a fixed project price. The size of the area, existing condition, preparation, ceilings, materials and access all affect the quote. How long does it take to plaster a room?
It depends on whether the room needs a simple skim, repairs, new boarding or full replastering. Preparation and drying are separate from time spent applying plaster. Tell us which walls and ceilings are involved so we can discuss a realistic schedule. See more planning questions.
How long must new plaster dry before painting?
Wait until the plaster is fully dry, rather than relying on a fixed number of days. Thickness, temperature, ventilation and the background change drying time. Ask for guidance on the materials used and follow your paint maker’s instructions before decorating. Read the drying guide.
Is skimming enough, or do my walls need replastering?
Skimming gives a smooth finish over a suitable, stable background. Loose, hollow, crumbling or badly damaged plaster can need repairs, removal, a base coat or boarding first. Compare the options and send photos of the problem areas.
Can you plaster a ceiling or cover a textured finish?
Ceilings can be skimmed, repaired or boarded depending on their condition. Tell us about cracks, stains and any textured coating. Older coatings should be assessed before they are disturbed, because some may contain asbestos. Read the ceiling guide.
What should I do before the plasterer arrives?
Tell us about fixed furniture, electrical fittings, access and surfaces that need protection. Remove small belongings from the work area where possible; we can discuss the remaining preparation and what is included in the quote. Send your job details.
Can you plaster over a damp wall?
A new plaster finish will not stop an active moisture source. Leaks, condensation or recurring damp should be investigated before choosing a treatment or replastering. Learn about damp protection.
